Pabala is just a 20 minute drive away from the N2 thus making it one of the most easily accessible reserves. Its bungalow-style accommodation incorporates nature with modern essence. Bungalows offer a view across the farm with an open plan. Activities on site or in the surrounding area include 4x4 Trails, hiking, game viewing, bird watching, kayaking and a honey experience and tasting.

Conservation Highlights:

  1. Natural honey bee keeping and honey harvesting
  2. Breeding of Cape Mountain Zebras

Future Aims:

  1. To teach and empower local farmers in rural areas how to maintain, manage, and harvest bees for honey.
  2. To grow the Cape Mountain Zebra population that is currently less than 6 000 via breeding.
  3. To educate young children on the importance of bees to the overall social-ecological ecosystems so they are inspired to actively protect nature.
  4. Construct a farm distillery that will offer organic products made on the reserve such as honey.
